Rummy rules
The exact rules RummyDen enforces, in plain English.
The deck
- 2–3 players: 1 deck of 54 cards (52 + 2 printed jokers)
- 4–6 players: 2 decks of 54 each (108 total)
- 13 cards dealt to each player; one card flipped to start the discard pile.
- One card drawn from the deck determines the wild joker rank.
Card values
| Card | Points |
|---|---|
| Ace, K, Q, J, 10 | 10 |
| 2 – 9 | Face value |
| Printed joker / wild rank | 0 |
Valid declaration
- All 13 cards used, each card exactly once.
- At least 2 sequences.
- At least 1 of those sequences must be a pure sequence (no jokers).
- Remaining groups must be valid sequences or sets.
Ace handling
Aces can be played low (A-2-3) or high (Q-K-A). They cannot wrap (K-A-2 is invalid).
Drops
- First drop — before any draw. Default 20 points.
- Middle drop — after at least one draw. Default 40 points.
- Three consecutive turn timeouts auto-drop the player.
Invalid declaration
If you declare with an invalid hand, you receive the round cap penalty (default 80 points). The round may end or continue depending on the host's room settings.
Round end
A round ends when a player makes a valid declaration, or when all but one player drops. The winner scores 0; everyone else scores the face value of cards not in valid melds (capped at 80).
